For those of us on this hard core SMDL list, I have placed on TD my '87
CSX convertible #290 for sale for $15K. I have a spreadsheet I will send
to any serious parties, which includes all the information on the parts
used to build this vehicle. The spreadsheet does not include the Custom IC
Piping ($600), brand new Goodyear Eagle HR tires ($600), Borbet Wheels
($1200), and a brand new custom designed Griffin radiator ($500). Those
are just the big ticket items. I will have pictures posted somewhere in
cyberspace on Monday. The thread on TD has a guy's email where I will send
pics, and he will then post them. They will mostly be of how the vehicle
was constructed. It took 3 years and well over $25K in parts to build this
car. This car has won a couple of car shows already. A little TLC (cut
and buff the paint) and it would be capable of Autorama or any other
national event. I had a great time with it at the Dream Cruise this year.
I have "tested" the rad at 80+ mph for many miles in 90^ heat with no more
overheating problems. The stock rad had a soldered tube which probably
blocked flow, causing some overheating on long interstate drives at
spirited speeds in 85^+ temps. The NOS odometer in the cluster shows
actual miles since the car was built. it is at about 5200 now. Car is
sitting in my garage and can be driven anywhere. Serious inquiries only. I
won't sell it if I can't get what I want for it. $15K is already about 1/2
the price of the parts alone.
